'Bubbles' is painted steel sculpture created by artist George Mullen in 1995. One of his later works, but he was till experimenting with new styles and materials. Comprised of Plate steel with cutout circles mounted to a steel base. This was outside as it was intended so it shows weathering consistent with that. This is one of a number of pieces we acquired directly from the artists estate.

About the artist; In the early 1960's George P. Mullen arrived in Santa Barbara, California having spent many years studying art and design, and working as in interior designer and artist. With his wife Theresia he set up a small company that produced unique furniture of his own design. In the mid 1970's when the business could no longer compete with large volume manufactures George focused on his art and worked in virtually every medium creating numerous pieces through the early 2000's. He particularly focused on carved wood pieces both large and small.
