Around 1977, Lou Hodges had a shop to fabricate his furniture designs in El Cajon, CA. Then he moved the shop to San Juan Capistrano, CA and named the new shop Generation 80, with a retail store in Laguna Niguel, CA. All his pieces were stamped by the craftsperson who made it (as is this desk).
