1940s Extra Large Hand Painted Tin (on wood) Surround / Frame from Mexico
61 1/2" height x 51" width x 2 3/4" depth (depth includes smaller inset tin frame)
This one of a kind frame (tin nailed on wood) was handmade (cut and painted) in Mexico in the 1940s. It was brought to LA in the 1960s. An Los Angeles Time 1966 newspaper was tucked inside as it originally held a mirror and still can! This gorgeous surround/frame can be used for artwork or other framed work can be set inside as well. It was also used to hold a padded wood piece clad in velvet to hold jewelry on hooks. It's a very unique piece!
